OAKWOOD -- Marjorie Marie Eakins Evans Sickmiller, of Oakwood, died February 19, 2012, at the age of 100 years old.

Marjorie Sickmiller was born on Peach Mountain in Adams County, Ohio. She was the daughter of John Raymond and Martha Ann (Shoemaker) Eakins. She was a member of Auglaize Chapel Church of God and Gideons International Auxiliary. She was a lifetime farmer and worked many years for S.K. Wayne Factory in Defiance. As a child, she helped her father plow the fields using a team of horses to plant the tobacco crop on Peach Mountain.

Marjorie is survived by four sons, DeWayne (Sharon) Evans and John (Roberta) Sickmiller, both of Napoleon, Jerry Sickmiller, Elida, Ohio, and Joe Sickmiller, Oakwood; four daughters, Winona (Dick) Hays of Oakwood, Janette (Stanley) Coplin of Paulding, Marjane (Lee) Baker of South Lyon, Michigan, and Judy (Dennis) Baker, Oakwood; a sister, Betty Tanner, of Orient, Ohio; 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Clyde Evans in 1994; Eryl Sickmiller in 2003; a son, Donald Evans; a daughter, Garnett Evans Noble; a grandson, Stuart Noble; daughter-in-law, Nancy Sickmiller; great grandson, Samuel David Sickmiller; two brothers, Charlie and Carson Eakins; six sisters, Thelma Iler, Norma Spencer, Beatrice Walkenshaw, Ermith Wellman and Edra Elliott.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 23, at Auglaize Chapel Church of God, Oakwood, with Pastor Christopher Baker, Rev. David Coplin, and Pastor Stan Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Blakeslee Cemetery, Charloe. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial made to Gideons International, Auglaize Chapel Church of God or a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be sent to www.denherderfh.com.
